The Beautiful Game

A walk-off grandslam home run in the playoffs, a hail-mary winning touchdown, a half-court game winning shot in the NBA finals. There are many sports moments that will get any persons blood pumping with adrenaline, whether or not their allegiance lies with any team involved in the competition. Sunday, June 15th offered us another intesely dramatic moment when Turkey faced off against the Czech Republic in the 2008 European Championships. 11 men for each side represented their country in a knock out match for the winner to advance to the quarter finals. Three goals in the final 15 minutes (2 in the final 5 minutes) would decide this epic battle.

For the nay-sayers, and for the football (soccer, for you anglos) lovers out there, I have embedded the highlights of one of the most passionate, exciting, and surprising games I have ever seen.
